She comes from a position as Head of Department at the University of Greenland, where she has spent the last eight years teaching, researching and writing her PhD thesis.
“Through my research, I have disseminated knowledge to the whole of the Greenlandic society, and I believe that dissemination and creating a common understanding is the prerequisite for us to achieve our goals together. With Visit Greenland’s vision of positive tourism development in Greenland, and with a focus on quality, safety and sustainability, I will work particularly to ensure that tourism development is based on local ownership,” says the future Head of Communication.
40-year-old Rosannguaq Rossen is originally from Sisimiut but has lived with her family in Nuuk since 2005. She has a PhD background in Arctic studies, where she has researched and taught nation branding, among other things. In the past, she has also worked as a flight attendant for Air Greenland and a consultant for Visit Greenland.
As Head of Communication, Rosannguaq will be responsible for the company’s strategic communication tasks, both internally and externally. She will also be responsible for the continuous development and maintenance of relations with the company’s stakeholders, as well as national press management.
“Tourism development that respects the environment and society requires that everyone is on board and that we have a common understanding of how to promote sustainable development. This requires clear communication of our strategic objectives, as well as the visions and ambitions for tourism development in Greenland,” says Visit Greenland’s CEO, Anne Nivíka Grødem, and continues,
“With Rosannguaq’s extensive experience and skills in communication, we can better meet this need and ensure increased involvement of Visit Greenland’s stakeholders. In this way, we can strengthen the value creation for the overall tourism development in the country.”
Rosannguaq Rossen starts at Visit Greenland on 1 December 2022.
