Another objective of the conference was to find out how to ensure a sustainable tourism development with focus on growth, innovation and responsible tourism. That is why it was also important to gather input from the more than 130 participants, input that was transformed into a number of recommendations for the politicians. They are now handed over to the Minister of Industry and Energy Aqqalu Jerimiassen.
”It has been a really good seminar and there has been really good support from the industry and the organizations around it. Some really interesting and important topics were brought up and they have amounted to some really good recommendations for our politicians,” commented Bo Lings from Sirius Greenland in Sisimiut.
– ”We are pleased to present and pass on the 11 recommendations on behalf of the Greenlandic tourism industry. The recommendations are brought about by a wide field of public as well as private destination organizations, including many that work with tourism every day. Thus the recommendations are a direct result of the challenges and possibilities our tourism operators experience today,” says Julia Pars, managing director of Visit Greenland, in a press release.
