Nuutoqaq – Nuuk Local Museum

Do not miss your chance to visit Nuutoqaq – Nuuk local museum, located in the beautiful old harbour, also known as the colonial harbour and is housed in the old boat yard.

Nuutoqaq – Nuuk local museum opened its doors to the public in January 2017.

The museum has an item collection that’s been donated mainly from private persons and public institutions.
A visit to the local museum will bring you back in time, mainly the 1950’s and 60’s, when the capital of Greenland began developing into what it is today.

The local museum also houses art exhibitions and has various cultural events.

You can also find a very nice museum shop, selling Greenlandic design & art from local entrepreneurs. A great opportunity for you to buy great local gifts of high quality or souvenirs for yourself, supporting the smaller local entrepreneurs.

Enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or local ice cream from Greenland Ice while enjoying our beautiful view or while whale spotting.
