Four old colonial buildings provide the venue for Maniitsoq Museum. These buildings were originally built in the area where the fish factory and Pisiffik are located today.

The colonial administrator’s residence, assistant’s residence, cooper’s workshop, bakery, brewery and supply stall with shop and fish house, salmon house, blubber house and whale oil boiling house were all situated here.

The museum provides a good insight into the former settlements and colonial period, and also contains an exhibition of costumes, art and history.
